Sometimes you had to make a daguerreotype in winter and sometimes the studio lacked sufficient heat. This lady appears to be wondering if coming in today was worth the chill. Her quarter plate image turned out just fine. It is in very good condition, although there is a rainbow mark of unknown origin at the far left. The case is whole… but only because of some long ago repairs.
